Laughing Brass is formed by a group of youth with enormous talent from many schools in Hong Kong. The band started in the year 2004. It was founded and conducted by Scott Liu, the conductor of Junior Wind Band of the HKAPA, and Fung Ka Hing, who had a chance in October 2004 to study his Master Degree on Trumpet Performance with the famous Professor James Thompson. They led the group to a very successful start. The group’s first performance was in Macau as part of the “Macau Band Fair”. Afterwards, they have played in a large variety of concerts including educational concerts, wedding, and other public performances.

In the upcoming summer, Laughing Brass may have an opportunity to perform and take part in a concert hold by WASBE (World Association of Symphonic Band Ensembles). In the following years, under the direction of Scott Liu and Fung Ka Hing, the Laughing Brass shall strive to attain a high standard of musical performance.
